With AlphaTrade's proprietary technology, a website could give its users the power and convenience of an application within their browser. It is a well know fact that Internet access is driving the market for first time buyers now and in some respects has turned the PC into an appliance. This fact opens the door for a new breed of information appliance which offers only the bare essentials needed to access the Internet with a basic and very usable set of applications such as word processing and e-mail. Similar technology to AlphaTrade's streaming application technology is currently used in the audio and video industries. These industries learned the hard way that the consumer is not interested in delayed gratification. Users are now able to listen to music over the Internet without having to wait for the entire audio file to download. AlphaTrade's new streaming application technology will also allow users to begin using a remotely hosted application immediately, without waiting for the entire module series to download. Streaming technology leverages the power of Java gzip pipes, the in-browser Java script interpreter, and the document object module to stream fully functional applications into the browser in much the same way that audio and video files are streamed by such technologies like Realmedia and MS Netshow. Applications thus streamed are available instantaneously because of the modular nature of the AlphaTrade application model, in effect, a client-server overlay manager with a client-side caching. In a given application, graphical user interface (GUI) components are downloaded first and the applications start running immediately as functional modules are sequed in behind the GUI, invisibly to the user. With the advent of low-cost computers, the entire industry will be revamped to ensure users are provided with what they want- access to the Internet and user friendly browser environments. AlphaTrade's unique, lightweight (10K or less) Java based components are true "web to desktop" convergence technologies which have been developed to be user friendly and functional. AlphaTrade is positioning itself as the premier financial web portal for the new millennium. For further information on AlphaTrade.com, please contact our office.
