Streaming technology leverages the power of Java gzip pipes, the in-browser Java script interpreter, and the document object module to stream fully functional applications into the browser in much the same way that audio and video files are streamed by such technologies like Realmedia and MS Netshow. Applications thus streamed are available instantaneously because of the modular nature of the AlphaTrade application model, in effect, a client-server overlay manager with a client-side caching. In a given application, graphical user interface (GUI) components are downloaded first and the applications start running immediately as functional modules are sequed in behind the GUI, invisibly to the user.

With the advent of low-cost computers, the entire industry will be revamped to ensure users are provided with what they want- access to the Internet and user friendly browser environments. AlphaTrade's unique, lightweight (10K or less) Java based components are true "web to desktop" convergence technologies which have been developed to be user friendly and functional.
