VANCOUVER, B.C., May 14, 1999 - AlphaTrade.com, a pioneer in Web-to-desktop convergence, has released "AlphaTicker," a streaming stock quote ticker that can be ripped out of an Internet browser and locked to a computer desktop. This product is the first of its kind in the world and is the first of many applications to be released in the "AlphaWare" line of products, which are designed exclusively for Internet applications. Unlike other applications from the Internet that must be downloaded, AlphaTicker can be "ripped" out of the browser onto the desktop with full functionality and customization capabilities. AlphaTicker is unique in that it is polymorphic meaning it can "live" on your desktop without being downloaded or if the user so desires, it can be downloaded instantly. It is the only application on the Internet with this capability. "Our technology is unmatched anywhere on the Web" said Rafael De Noyo, AlphaTrade's Chief Technology Officer. Mr. De Noyo states emphatically that knowledgeable programmers will see the AlphaTicker and say, "Wow! You can't do that with an applet!" This is an important breakthrough for the company. The AlphaTicker provides a live stream of stock information instead of polling stock exchanges for quote updates which is the standard mode of operation for other tickers. AlphaTicker loads only the sub-components it needs at run time, so there are no lengthy downloads. "AlphaTicker is a true display of technical virtuosity," says Mr. De Noyo. AlphaTicker is only one component of the Company's new financial portal - E-Gate - set for launch this summer. In addition to live streaming quotes, E-Gate users will have a number of other AlphaWare applications available to them, such as word processing, spreadsheet functions, and live streaming video to name a few. The company will be licensing its AlphaWare browser-based technologies for applications in a variety of industries. The E-Gate financial portal can be private-labeled for any of the more than 5,000 institutions with no presence on the Web. Auction sites such as E-Bay, search portals such as Yahoo, e-commerce sites such as Amazon.com, entertainment venues and gaming sites can utilize AlphaWare technologies to enhance usage on their sites. These licensing arrangements will be supplementary to the subscription-based revenues and the advertising revenue potential of the company. "With AlphaWare, there will be no need to purchase software or costly upgrades," De Noyo said. AlphaTrade will offer state-of-the-art products and services - all from the Internet and all from AlphaTrade.com…… "The applications are endless." About AlphaTrade AlphaTrade.com (OTCBB: EBNK) is an Internet-based company developing "Web-to-desktop" convergence technologies. The AlphaWare line of applications designed and deployed by AlphaTrade offer computer users endless business and personal program choices, delivered via a nimble, thin client platform in their browser. # # #
