Streaming Internet Technologies

VANCOUVER, B.C., May 18, 1999 - AlphaTrade.com, a pioneer in Web-to-desktop convergence technologies recently released a unique streaming application -a stock ticker that can be ripped off an Internet browser and installed on a desktop. Unlike similar Internet applications AlphaTicker requires no downloading. AlphaTicker is seamlessly placed on a desktop with full functionality, customization capabilities, and without launching a second browser window.

"We predicted some 'bugs' would show up in the ticker when we released it on Friday. It is certainly not unusual to experience a few problems with so many variations of hardware and software environments" said Victor Cardenas, President of AlphaTrade.

One of the greatest benefits of AlphaTrade's application architecture is the ability to repair and upgrade seamlessly within the browser. All of the applications will have the ability to communicate with the source and ask for the latest version available. If there is an upgrade, it will be delivered automatically without the consumer ever knowing except for a simple alert provided to the user via email about the new features or enhanced functions. This will be completed in the browser without ever downloading a single byte ever again.

Mr. Cardenas refers to an article written for ABC News by Mark Anderson, President of Technology Alliance Partners wherein Mr. Anderson's talks about companies such as Microsoft (MSFT), RealNetworks (RNWK) and others battling behind the scenes to have the ability to download quickly and accurately. The article goes on to ask what it would be worth to own the best/most popular standard for downloading stuff to the user? Trillions of dollars are on the line here.

So what does this mean for AlphaTrade? What would it be worth to own the best/most popular standard for allowing users to access "stuff" accurately and quickly without ever having to download? Obviously, a lot more. "When you consider productivity gains and reductions to the total cost of ownership (TCO), AlphaTrade's solution is quicker, less expensive and easier for the consumer", said Victor.
